CallMeBack
CallMeBack is a Thuraya Value Added Service that allows subscribers to be in touch with people even if they run out of credit. With this service, Thuraya subscribers with exhausted call-credit can send SMS messages to other mobile users requesting them to call back.
The service offers convenience to Thuraya subscribers in remote and rural areas with no access to scratch cards centers to stay in touch- even after fully consuming their phone credit.
Essentially, the free-of-charge CallMeBack feature is available to both the Postpaid and Prepaid subscribers, but the service is most beneficial to the Prepaid subscribers, since they are able to contact anyone anywhere- even if they do not have the credit on the phone.
CallMeBack is a very simple service …
- Thuraya users simply need to send an SMS to the Short Code 1755 to enable the other person to call him/her back.
- In the content of the SMS, subscribers need to write the telephone number of the person he/she wants to call back.
How to use the service…
- Write the number of the person who you wish to call back in the content of the SMS.
- Place the number in-between “#” signs.
SMS content example:
To a GSM number:
#97150XXXXXXX# or
#1708XXXXXXX# or
#4479XXXXXXXX#
To a Thuraya number:
#88216XXXXXXXX# - The number must be a devise that receives SMS.
- When you have keyed in the SMS content, send it to 1755.
In turn, Thuraya will send an SMS to the person whose number is mentioned in your SMS informing that person to call you back.
Important:
- In all cases, an area code is necessary even if the message is sent to a Thuraya phone number.
- The CallMeBack service will not work if the message is sent to a landline telephone number (Fixed Line-PSTN).
- The service works only when the subscriber is in Satellite Mode.
- This service is Free. There is no charge for the SMS that you send to 1755.
