Thuraya satellite communications for all GSMK CryptoPhones

The GSMK CryptoPhone T2 is an add-on device to GSMK CryptoPhone systems that enables the use of the Thuraya satellite system for secure calls.

The system consists of a docking station that attaches to the Thuraya phone and works via a wireless connection with a GSMK cryptoPhone 200, 220 or G10 that has a special Thuraya-capable firmware installed.

The user places the T2 with the Thuraya phone in a spot with good Thuraya coverage. A wireless connection is then established between his CryptoPhone and the T2. Now secure calls can be placed over the Thuraya network while moving around in a range of several meters around the T2 unit, just like with a cordless phone. The T2 is used to transport the signal (that has already been encrypted inside the CryptoPhone) over the Thuraya satellite telephony network. The wireless connection between his CryptoPhone and the T2 poses no security risk, as it is only used to transport already encrypted data.
