Global Communications Services Romania in Alliance with Thuraya

Abu Dhabi , UAE: Thuraya has added a new partner for provision of its services in Romania. Global Communications Services Romania has become Thuraya’s twenty first Service Provider.

The service provider agreement was signed between Thuraya and Global Communications Services Romania by Thuraya’s chief executive Mr Yousuf Al Sayed and Global Communications Services Romania’s president Mr Marius Opran.

The service provider agreement gives Global Communications Services Romania the rights to distribute and market Thuraya’s mobile satellite services and products throughout Romania. This includes user terminal and SIM cards as well as the facility to oversee billing and customer care aspects.

Thuraya’s chief executive Mr Al Sayed said, “ This is a another major commercial success for Thuraya services and we are pleased to have Global Communications Services Romania as Thuraya’s service provider in Romania”.

“We will work closely with Global Communications Services Romania towards providing our services and complementing the telecommunications services in the country, and we look forward to the commercial launch of our services early in 2001,” he added.

On his part, Mr Opran said “ We are very pleased about this new partnership with Thuraya and we are confident that Thuraya services will meet the needs of various market segments in Romania and expand the reach of telecommunications throughout the country. We look forward to reinforce our relationship with Thuraya through this service provider agreement.”

Global Communications Services Romania, a leading private company based in Bucharest is owned by Romanian Trade Promotion S.A, a group of prominent companies in Romania. The company is specialised in communications, electronics, informatics and data protection, and is the representative of many international companies.
