GloCall BV Signs up as Thuraya’s Service Provider in the Benelux Countries
Abu Dhabi , UAE, Nov 5th 2000: Thuraya continues to reinforce its position as a leading mobile satellite operator in Europe. It has signed GloCall BV as its service provider in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi between Thuraya’s Chief Executive Mr Yousuf Al Sayed and Mr Freek Tempelaar General Manager of GloCall BV. Also present at the signing ceremony were Mr Jamal Al Jarwan Thuraya’s Executive Manager Business Development, Mr Hans Kuijt, General Manager of GloCall Middle East and other senior officials.
The Service Provider agreement provides GloCall BV with the rights to distribute and market Thuraya’s mobile satellite services and products throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. It includes supply of Thuraya user terminals and SIM cards as well as supervision of billing and customer care aspects.
"This is another major commercial success for Thuraya in the European market. With this agreement, Thuraya has Service Provision agreements in 30 countries,” said Thuraya’s Chief Executive Mr Al Sayed, speaking on the occasion.
“We will work closely with GloCall BV towards introducing our services in the Benelux countries and giving expanded access through Thuraya’s coverage and services,” he added.
On his part, Mr Freek Tempelaar General Manager of GloCall BV said: "The business relationship with Thuraya is an important step in the expansion of our service portfolio.
