Mr. Al Jarwan Appointed Executive Manager

Mr. Jamal Al Jarwan has taken on new responsibilities after being appointed by Thuraya’s Board of Directors as Executive Manager Business Development. Prior to joining Thuraya, Mr. Al Jarwan, a business graduate, was based at the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat), where he held various managerial posts in Sales and Operations.
Since his appointment as Manager Marketing with the Thuraya Project in 1996, Mr. Al Jarwan has played a key role in the progress of the project, especially in the business planning and promotion of Thuraya at an international level.
He also represented Thuraya in various meetings of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) on Global Mobile Personal Communication via Satellite (GMPCS). He was recently elected Vice Chairman of GMPCS-MOU.
The portfolio of the Business Development Division comprises management of regional marketing, business development, media and public relations departments, as well as overseeing regulatory affairs.
