Thuraya at ITU Telecom Asia 2004

Thuraya will take part in the forthcoming ITU Telecom Asia event to be held in Busan, Korea from 7-11 September 2004.

The event will feature live interactive demonstrations of Thuraya’s versatile products and services for the first time in Asia offering visitors a unique learning experience of Thuraya’s satellite telephony.

An ideal platform to showcase Thuraya’s satellite services, ITU Telecom Asia 2004 will serve as an initiative for Thuraya’s plans to expand its growth opportunities into new market segments.

Thuraya’s powerful applications are expected to meet the demand of a wide range of sectors accommodating changing needs and requirements of Asia’s geographically diverse areas that are highly populated and which can greatly benefit from Thuraya’s blanket coverage.

With a phenomenal reputation in the Asian telecom industry’s calendar, ITU Telecom Asia 2004 is expected to explore the exceptional opportunities for growth on the region’s telecommunications markets for the year ahead.

ASIA 2004 will be the 7th regional ITU Telecom event to be held in the Asia Pacific region under the theme ‘Asia Leading the Future’ . Besides attracting the world and regional leaders from the telecoms and IT industries as well as key figures from governments across the region, ITU Telecom 2004 features stands from over 200 exhibitors including representations from virtually all the major players in the market, giving them a platform to display their strategies for 2004 and attract interest in their forthcoming products and developments.

The Forum featuring high quality speakers and participants, and a series of industry-critical debates will reinforce the ITU T elecom reputation as a unique non-profit showcase for telecommunications technologies and as a Forum for strategic policy discussions relevant to the regional and global industry.

The event takes place at a time when the role of the Asia-Pacific region as the largest telecommunications market and emerging epicentre for global growth is being acknowledged in the world.

ITU Telecom Asia 2002 – the last ITU event in the region – featured 319 exhibitors from 24 countries, including 10 national pavilions in net exhibit space of nearly 16,000 square meters. There were more than 18,000 visitors from 122 countries. The conference program featured 240 speakers from 38 countries, and there were 985 delegates.
