Thuraya Hosts Successful Multilateral Coordination Meeting

Thuraya hosted the Second Regions 1 & 3 Multilateral L-Band GSO/ MSS Intersystem Co-ordination Meeting in Dubai, UAE.
Held from December 8 to 14, the meeting was attended by delegates representing administrations from Australia, Germany, Italy, France, Indonesia, Japan, Russia, Singapore, the UK, the UAE and several satellite telecommunications companies.
Mr Ali Ameeri, Manager Operations at Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) acted as chairman. Delegates signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering the use of L-Band spectrum in 1998 to facilitate the provision of mobile satellite telecommunications services in the ITU regions 1 & 3, and the spectrum requirements for 1999 and year 2000.
