Thuraya Introduces its Services in Morocco

Abu Dhabi-Casablanca- Thuraya announces the launch of its satellite services in Morocco. The introduced services in Morocco include the satellite services of Thuraya’s dual mode hand held mobile phone and the rural telephony solutions or the Public Calling Office (PCO).
The Public Calling Office or the rural public phone is considered to be one of the most anticipated products expected to cover the digital gap in the rural and remote areas of Morocco. The PCO service in Morocco is aimed at serving the remote areas most in demand of telecommunication services by connecting these areas with the rest of the world and contributing towards the development of rural areas in the country.
Quicphone Company, Thuraya’s representative of Thuraya in Morocco will promote and distribute Thuraya’s satellite telephony solutions. The company will also provide customer service support for all Thuraya customers in the Kingdom of Morocco.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Jamal Al Jarwan, Thuraya’s Executive Manager of Business Development said, “The Public Calling Office is considered to be one of the most important products presented recently to offer the basic need for telecommunications in rural and remote areas in our coverage area.”
Mr. Al Jarwan added: “ We are pleased with our association with Quicphone Company as Thuraya’s representative in Morocco for the distribution of Thuraya products and services. We are confident that Thuraya will have a wide reach of customers in the country as Quicphone has a good network of distribution outlets and are very experienced in this field.”
