Thuraya Public Calling Office (ThurayaPCO) is a powerful, versatile and cost effective telecommunication tool for thousands of people around the world.

Technology

The PCO based on the latest micro-controller technology, is intended to monitor each outgoing call. The complete data can be viewed on a 16×2 alphanumeric display area of the PCO while the line status is displayed on the corresponding booth display. The PCO also facilitates all printouts to be taken on a 24 column alphanumeric printer. While on-hook, the calendar information is displayed on the LCD display as well as on the corresponding booth displays.

When the handset is off-hook, the corresponding booth display shows “dial the number” message. While the number is being dialed, the station name of the dialed number can be viewed on the console display. You can also view the tariff and duration of the call that are displayed on the console display and corresponding booth display. When the call is terminated, the details of the call are printed as the ‘Call Bill’.

ThurayaPCO service features:

Prepayment call
This mode allows the owner to enter the amount that the customer would like to spend on the call, and then initiate the call. As soon as the configured amount finishes, the line gets disconnected. Another option available is to have a prepayment call on a ‘time basis' rather than on ‘amount basis'.
 
Adding Service Charges
The service provider or the ThurayaPCO owner has an option of adding a Service Charge (Additional revenue margin) to the band rate charged by Thuraya. This feature is password protected to enable only the authorized personnel to set it up.

Memory calls
The ThurayaPCO is capable of memorizing 1500 calls. The calling office owner can also select any bill serial number for reviewing in an individual or cumulative format.

Credit facility
An additional advantage is that the ThurayaPCO allows storage of 99 accounts. This facility conveniences frequent callers to make their payments on a monthly/weekly basis.

Currency format
The service provider or the owner will have the option of billing customers based on the local currency or US dollars.

Tax charge
The service charge and taxes can be added to the bill printout. These two functions can be programmed in a high level of security where the user is required to enter a special password in order to enter the master menu.
