THURAYA signs Service Provision Agreement with Next Destination

Abu Dhabi , UAE – On 29th of January 2000, Thuraya satellite Telecommunications Company and Next Destination Limited of the UK entered into a Service Provision Agreement.

Through this agreement, Next Destination will promote, sell, and distribute Thuraya services including oversee aspects such as billing, in the United Kingdom.

A worldwide supplier of satellite airtime and communication systems, Next Destination is a wholly owned subsidiary of ‘The Kroll-O’Gara Company’. It specializes in satellite navigation and communications company, and has offices in the United Kingdom, France, United States, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.

Thuraya’s Chief Executive, Mr Yousuf Abdulla Al Sayed commented on the agreement, saying: “Thuraya is pleased to enter into a partnership with Next Destination, a company that is known for being aggressive in the market place and one that understands the business of satellite communications”

Mr Mark White, Managing Director of Next Destination said: “Next Destination sees great opportunities in providing and distributing Thuraya services in United Kingdom realizing many values that Thuraya will bring to the Next Destination customer base. Thuraya will launch its first satellite in the last quarter of 2000 and start services in the beginning of 2001. Thuraya will be offering voice, fax, data, messaging and location determination (GPS), through a wide coverage area spanning Europe, North and Central Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
