Thuraya Signs up Danimex Communications as its Service Provider in Denmark
Abu Dhabi , 3 October 2000: Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications Company has expanded its partnerships in the Europe with a new a commercial alliance with Danimex Communications Ltd in Denmark.
The Service Provider agreement was signed between Thuraya and Danimex Communications Ltd by Thuraya’s Chairman Mr Mohammad Omran and Mr Egon Bruun Managing Director of Danimex Communications Ltd. Present at the signing ceremony at Thuraya’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi were Thuraya’s Chief Executive Mr Yousuf Al Sayed, Mr Knud Madsen, Technical Director of Danimex Communications Ltd, and senior officials from both companies.
The Service Provider agreement, gives Danimex Communications Ltd, the rights to distribute and market Thuraya’s mobile satellite services and products throughout Denmark. This includes handsets and SIM cards as well as billing and customer care aspects.
Speaking on the occasion, Thuraya’s Chairman Mr Omran said: "We are pleased to enter into this partnership with Danimex Communications Ltd, which has extensive expertise in the telecommunications business. This is another commercial success for Thuraya in Europe, as we move ahead towards the launch of Thuraya -1 satellite.”
“We will work closely with Danimex Communications Ltd towards introducing our services in Denmark and giving expanded access through Thuraya’s coverage and services,” he added.
On his part, the Managing Director of Danimex Communications Ltd Mr Bruun said: "The business relationship with Thuraya is an important step in the expansion of our service portfolio. We recognise the tremendous capabilities of satellite technology, and the values that Thuraya will bring to various market segments in Denmark. We look forward to reinforcing our relationship with Thuraya through this Service Provider agreement."
