Thuraya Takes Part in Arabcom

Beirut, LEBANON: Thuraya’s participation at The 3rd Annual Arab International Telecom Congress and Exhibition for the Arab States and the Middle East (Arabcom 2000) held in Beirut, Lebanon from 25 to 28 March, has attracted great interest from representatives of the telecom industry, the business community, government officials and members of the public.

The 4 day event, inaugurated by Lebanese Transportation Minister Dr. Issam Noman, is hosted in coordination with the Lebanon Ministry of Post and Telecom. Held under the banner "Communication for the 21st Century," the regional conference focuses on telecommunications, broadcasting, the internet and communications security systems.

The congress sessions focus on emerging new technologies services, solutions, and products with the plenary sessions addressing much of the structuring taking place in many Arab states including development of telecom networks, information infrastructure, interconnection, rural telephony, satellite services and mobile communications.
