A: Yes, you can initiate a call or receive a call on a wireless handset provided with Thuraya Marine.

 
Q: How many wireless handsets can I use with a Thuraya Marine terminal?

A: You can use up to four wireless handsets with a single Thuraya Marine terminal.

 
Q: Does Thuraya Marine support GMDSS?

A: Thuraya Marine has Distress functionality, but it is not GMDSS compliant.

 
Q: What is the Distress functionality that Thuraya Marine supports?

A: There is a red Distress button on the BDU as well as on the wireless handset. If the user is in distress, pressing this button will send a preconfigured message to a predefined contact, who can carry out emergency rescue operations.

 
Q: How do I configure the Distress functionality?

A: Distress functionality can be configured by the user, and a distress message automatically sent out to three email addresses and three SMS numbers
