The Fixed-Wing Aero Terminal (T320) is a compact, high-performance L-band solution that gives fixed-wing fleets reliable, secure, real-time connectivity across the Thuraya-4 next generation satellite coverage, spanning Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. Its mechanically steered, low-profile antenna maintains a robust link throughout climb, cruise, and approach while drawing just ~28 W, making it ideal for mission-critical cockpit data, flight ops messaging, live telemetry, and situational updates without the weight, drag, or cost of larger systems.
Core applications
- Operational flight data: position, health/usage monitoring, and flight-ops messaging to dispatch/MCC.
- Weather and route updates: inflight advisories and diversion support over remote corridors.
- Mission communications: secure reachback for government, public safety, and special missions.
- UAV testbeds and R&D: reliable L-band link for airborne experimentation and certification work.
Critical needs it serves
- Coverage gaps over deserts, mountains, and blue-water routes where terrestrial/ATG links fail.
- L-band maintains performance in case of unreliable comms during adverse weather.
- Weight/drag penalties from bulky aero antennas is tackled by low-profile form factor, reducing impact.
- High-power systems unsuitable for smaller aircraft is addressed by ~28 W enabling efficient installations.
Enabled by Thuraya-4: The terminal leverages Thuraya-4’s next-generation L-band coverage for resilient, always-on air-to-ground connectivity across key aviation corridors.
